Senior sessions are so fun. You get to capture the excitement, the relief, the nervousness, and the joy from finishing High School. No matter what anyone says, making it through High School is a reason to celebrate. You work hard, you are learning more about yourself, you are exploring all kinds of new subjects, making friendships and memories that will last a lifetime

I worked with this lovely lady's mother and it came up one day that her daughter needed senior portraits. She was the class of 2020 and of course last year was the first year of the pandemic. Courtnie really wanted a mix of urban and also nature. So we started downtown with some street photography showcasing some graffiti, a small street, and some cool architecture.

What a time to be graduating high school in 2020 and now 2021. I am so proud of the kids who have been participating in learning in unconventional ways and still accomplishing their high school education. They have learned that there is more than one way to do something and I wish I had learned that when I was that age.

If there's anything that Courtnie showed me at her session is that she was still a bright, spunky, joyful young lady who was going to work hard no matter what life tried to throw at her. And that she had the tenacity to persevere and look back on 2020 with a smile.
